Underwater Photography Tips and Equipment Ideas.Whale and Snorkel Trip Reports with Pictures.
Have you ever gotten stink eye from a local? Do you not consider yourself a guest when you come here? The people of Hawaii do think that way. Why would you even say such a lame accusation? Would you say that to someone on island? There have been newspaper articles about how the author is so disliked he can't be interviewed and show his face.ĭo you think there are that many business owners disgruntled? Why did the two National Parks ban the book? Were they disgruntled at a bad review? Worried about falling admission sales? Not possible they believe he promoted dangerous hikes? Shea is on the Big Island and runs a law practice. I have no connection to any business and am not on Maui. Believe everyone acts out of self interest. Your suspicions are right in line with the Blue Book mentality.
Do you have a list of places to go picked out? Keep in mind that not all private property on Maui is signed. I am curious how you will determine what is trespassing and what is not.
#When was maui revealed 6th edition published full
I'm going to be reading it carefully today, believe me! I know that the Doughty guy who wrote these books was never, ever, a full time resident of Kaua'i for any length of time certainly, so that is bogus already. Not to toot my horn (which it sounds like I know).but I was feeling really guilty when this issue comes up over on the Kaua'i forum that I never weighed in since I don't have the book. So.intend to do that today.I am very involved in Hawaiian Culture here thru the halau hula that I've been with for 20 years, the 'Olelo Hawai'i Immersion classes (Hawaiian Language) that I took for almost 4 years (until they stopped the class on the evening I was able to attend).and being a docent at our Kaua'i Museum here, amongst other things. I have to say that I did not own a "Revealed" book up until this last weekend when I saw one at a garage sale (it is a recent edition) and decided to buy it and read the darn thing to find out for myself what the huhu is about. I almost never frequent the neighbor island forums, and stay on my own island of Kaua'i for posting.but this subject interests me as it has ignited so much passion and debate.
